The International Competition for Young Pianists "Step to Mastery" is held since 1995.
In 2026, the competition is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Soviet and Russian conductor Yuri Temirkanov.
The competition will be held from June 3 to 10, 2026 in Saint Petersburg (Russia).

The competition is held in the specialty "Piano" (solo). It consists of three rounds plus a qualifying round:
The qualifying round is based on video recordings;
I and II rounds - performance of solo programs;
III round - a concert performance with a symphony orchestra in the Grand Hall of the Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonia named after D. D. Shostakovich.
